These are too expensive to buy a printer with a bad print head. Great old printer with uniqure capablities These printers are long out of production, but unique in their capabilities. I have truly enjoyed owning my Alps electric MD micro dry color printer, and would recommend it to anyone looking to buy. Alps MD Printer I got into the photp gift business a few years ago, I used an Alps MD printer which worked great, they went out of business and I bought a bunch of dye sub ink, the cable was a bi-direcctional cable, I now want to start using it again, I think I found the right driver, and bought a parallel to usb cable, my computer recognizes the hardware when I connect it, I go through the printing steps, and nothing gets printed, looking for help on getting this fixed, if not what is the best dye sub printer to use if I will use it off and on, some suggested the Epson , however others say the heads clog up. One each of the following new standard dry ink cartridges: The MD and MD have the dye-sublimation printing as a standard part of the printer.

If you are comfortable tweaking the OS, it’s a workable option. They will print in white and metallics, which is essential for making decals.

They have a driver for the in the file section. Find More Posts by mark It’s using XP compatibility mode in Win 7. It performs every time it is used. Unfortunately, there is no fix for this, as Alps stopped production of these printers years ago, and now do not offer repairs for these printers.
Mine was well packed with the print head stabilized to prevent damage during shipping. This printer has been a joy to own. This is the second MD which I have owned, my first one having given many years of reliable servic e. No missing cartridges, manuals or cables.

This printer with all of its supplied accessories will allow you to set up and get printing without fuss or muss. Sorry, there are no Windows 7 Drivers.
The md is in a league of its own,thats why I decided on purchasing the printer and at a good price. You can also print metallic ink with it as others have stated. Follow the directions in this link: I picked-up an old and cheap laptop on Craigslist and printed my decals from there. A copy of a User Guide is included for assistance to ensure long term operation.
Windows 7 bit is not ALPS compatible.
If you still want a dye-sub capable Alps printer, the only model available is the MD, which you apls find here: Answer questions, earn points and help others Answer questions. It was and still is pricey but well worth it considering what it can do for decal makers.
